Present Continuous Tense in Urdu with definition, formulas, rules, exercise, structures, examples of negative, interrogative, and interro-negative.
STEP – I
Present = the period of time now occurring/happening
Continuous= forming an unbroken/unstopped action
Tense = time/verb
Present Continuous Tense =an unstopped or unbroken action is happening in recent
STEP-II
Definition of Present Continuous Tense:
In this tense anything is done, happened, or borne in the present time in Continuing aspects.
They are doing their duty.
STEP – III
Recognition of Present Continuous Tense in English:
S + is/are/am +1V + ing+ O
First of all, the subject is placed at the start of the sentence then is/are/am and the first form of verb plus ing and object at the end with a full stop.
Examples:
* 1V=1st form of verb
* 1V + ing = 4th form of verb
If subjects are “He, She, It” or “single name” then we shall use “is” after the above-mentioned subjects, if the subjects is “I”, we shall use “am” and “are” will be used if the subjects are You, We, They or plural names.
He, She, It, single name = use ‘is’ as helping verb after one of these subjects
I= use ‘am’
They, You, we, plural name= use ‘we’ after on of these subjects
He,She,It or single name= is
I = am
They, We, You, or plural name= are

STEP – IV
Negative Sentence of Present Continuous Tense:
Helping Verbs= is, are, am
To make a sentence negative, add “not” right after the helping verb. Let us formulate it.
S + is/are/am not +1V+ ing + O

He is not going school.

To make a sentence interrogative, place “is/are/am” right before the subject. Let us formulate it.

STEP -VI
Interro-Negative Sentence of Present Continuous Tense:
To make a sentence interro-negative, place “ helping verb (is/are/am)” right before the subject of a negative sentence and put the sign of interrogation at the end. Let us formulate it.
S + Is /Are/Am + 1V+ ing + O + ? (Simple)
S + Is /Are/Am +not + 1V+ ing + O + ? (-ve)
