Sir,
Through the columns of your esteemed paper, I want to draw the attention the authorities of the Health Department to the unhygienic condition of our colony. Heaps of rubbish and dirt lie scattered here and there. Sewage system is defective. Most of the gutters are without manholes. These gutters remain mostly blocked. Dirty water often comes out Of them. It keeps standing in the streets in the form of small pools and gives out pungent smell. These pools are breeding house mosquitoes. Epidemics may break any time and cause a great loss. It seems the sweepers bear grudge against this colony and do not bother to come here. I suggest following steps to improve this situation.
a. Streets should be swept regularly.
b. The rubbish carriages should carry the rubbish daily.
c. Special structures on the roads should be made to throw rubbish.
d. There should be well constructed drains on both sides of the roads.
e. These drains should be cleaned and washed daily.
f. The sweepers should be warned strictly.
